Cheat sheet for Spanish transcriptions

The cheat sheet for Spanish transcriptions is mostly complete, but the symbol for a lower-case letter q with the line over it is not copyable (either from PC or Mac sections). I can ‘copy’ what’s there but what gets pasted is a simple letter q.

Is there another place to get the q-with-the-line? I’ve just been transcribing it as [q] to suggest it’s incomplete; is there a better way to designate it? I know from having studied old Spanish that the symbol represents the word ‘que’.

Thanks, Janet

FYI - The link to the Cheat sheet in this posting is not working.

Here’s another attempt at a link: Cheat_Sheet_for_PC_MAC.pdf

I am going to work on making sure all of the characters on the sheet are included in the Non-English Characters How-To page so that they can be copied into transcriptions. Then it will also be in the How-To Guide which can be opened on the transcription page as you’re working, so you can copy those characters.

Using the square brackets would indicate the letter has been removed. A suggestion: Transcribe as a “q” and add a tag something like QwithLineAbove.

I was able to open the cheat sheet in another browser (phone) and email the character to myself. Success!

Ah. I didn’t know that the brackets indicate removal.

Anyway, I attempted to copy the q with line from the Cheat Sheet linked above and it pasted a simple q, with no line. I wonder if someone could copy/paste it into this chat. I can copy/paste all the other symbols on that PDF.

Thanks for the link to the Cheat Sheet!
