Hey all! Just dropping a few updates from the By the People program this month. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter if you haven’t yet <3
We just launched two brand new Theodore Roosevelt projects! The projects include letters Roosevelt received in the months immediately before and after international developments that finally drew the U.S. into World War I in April 1917. Dive in here: 19. Jan. 1-May 1, 1917: America Enters the War and 20. May 2-Sept. 2, 1917: TR Not Going “Over There”
And amazing news - you’ve completed the Silent Film Music Cue Sheets campaign! Launched only last year, we’re incredibly excited to get this campaign “cued” up to go back into loc.gov, where volunteer transcriptions can boost the discoverability and accessibility of these unique pages.
If you were able to make this week’s open office hours, you know we had a great time chatting about the Olmsted campaign. We’d love to have some intrepid reviewers work on the remaining pages - and we know there are some tricky ones in there. Navigate to By Design: Frederick Law Olmsted & Associates and see if you can chip away at any of the pages in the “Needs Review” section or the “In Progress” pages.
Cheers, all!
